RIP - Katie Reider 1978 -
2008
I posted a notice out a while back encouraging you guys to go
support the
efforts to raise money for Katie Reider, an independent
singer-songwriter
who has been battling a rare tumor.
By going to a site to download her songs for $1.00, as part of the
500,000
hits in 365 for Katie Reider, and a bunch of you did, you
helped her family
raise money towards what was needed to help pay astronomical medical
bills. And, I suspect the donations will and should continue -
because they don't clear your medical bills just because you die. At
times like this, the "curtains" are really painful for us surviving
creative spirits carrying dreams, as we keep getting reminded how
short life really is. I met Katie at a few shows some 6 years ago,
and her music and energy was remarkable. I'll let you read about it,
if interested ..but she passed away Monday morning, July 14th - and
I just wanted to pass it on. I know I got several emails of thanks
for turning you on to her music and battle after sharing her with
you. Her parents blogged on the latest - so please go read, listen,
donate and send your good vibes to a hurt family and community of
friends that loved her.

likely - thankfully
we have Stuart
Ferguson to treasure
as one of
independent music's
great songwriting
potentials in that
vein. Offering
up a 2008 version of
cool 70's sounds,
Stuart delivers some
easy listening
tuneage, with an
honest, down to
earth approach to
his musical opinion.
His vocal talent is
exceptional and very
unique with an
almost a high-end
"Meatloaf" intensity
- which makes it
even more
